In every possible combination there is always problem with Nvidia Control Panel at the end. Tried standalone installation of Nvidia control panel and wont install. Pretty useless.I was eager to get to the bottom of that crap, without luck - tried Guru3D driver sweeper, uninstalled ageia ppu from device mng with tick on software uninstall + reboot + installed new 190.62 with Ageia exclamation mark in Device mng = no luck. Nvidia Control panel is than still visible in Windows control panel but at launch it says there's a version mismatch and than opens only stereoscopic configuration without 3D and other advanced settings for graphic card. If i try to update or downgrade to any of official Nvidia drivers (also tried new 190.62) Nvidia Control Panel stops working! At the end of driver installation it prompts that control panel could not be installed properly.
With only physx 8.09.04 driver installed and ageia still present under Device mng i tried to install only newest physx driver first, but as many times before installation terminated prematurely just before finish and it gave msg something like "installation terminated because of an error" (nothing specific like in cases when windows installer is corrupted.).4. Ran Guru driver sweeper 2.05 just to be sure everything was gone (ticked driver and physx btw cleaning physx via driver sweeper has no effect on 8.xx physx driver which is good). Uninstalled forceware graphic driver and stereoscopic but not physx 8.09.04. Combination where Nvidia control panel works = forceware 190.38 + physx 8.09.04 + nvidia stereoscopic 3d driver (that's the components under Windows Programs, as u see without physx 9.xx upgrade)2.
After newest forceware 190.62 installed i used manual force and extracted all files of Nvidia control panel package NvCplSetup with Universal Extractor and copy-pasted them in Windows Safe Mode to System32 folder. When i opened windows control panel there was NCP still missing!5. Finally i installed graphic driver 190.62 and this time there was no msg at the end of installation about Nvidia control panel "not installed".
I know that installation will show msg about NCP not installed at the end, but than I will do manual force copy-paste in safe mode again. No luck.Last thing i would try is installing new forceware driver on top of the old one just as i always did when i was on XP - without prior uninstall of any kind (and no driver sweeper). Once again I pressed System restore and went back to 1.
Thanks for nothing Nvidia :bang. Guess something very dark stays in registry or somewhere, i don't know.Again I pressed System restore and loaded 190.38 combination as described earlier. Tried manual install of Nvidia control panel and it said there was release mismatch. I looked into System folder and there were all relevant NCP files except that thing wouldn't start. Than followed graphic driver installation, surprisingly without any prompts, but after reboot there was no Nvidia Control Panel (NCP).
